Nandini Raman, moved from Mumbai to Chennai in December 2005, after a long, successful run of over 12 years with Marketing & Media experience, in the Music Industry. She found her calling in Counseling after realizing that her core strength lies in her ability to emapthise and respond to people's needs. Her passion to empower people is what instantly connects her to her clients. Nandini, holds a M.Sc in Psychology from Madras University and a B.A in Psychology & Education, from Sophia College, Bombay University. She also completed her basic and advance course in 'Counseling Psychology' from 'Madras University' and 'Emmaus' and interned with none other than the leading psychotherapist, Dr. Emma Gonsalvez in Chennai. She was an Assistant Professor at Sathyabama University, where she taught and counseled, students and faculty members every Tuesday and Thursday. She has worked with numerous people across the last 6 years, from children, to teenagers, from adults to the elderly, from clients with anxiety to depression, from suicidal tendancies to work related stress management and she has helped them with empathy, patience and care. In the process, she has not only strengthened her own counseling skills but also learn't understanding human behaviour much better. She regularly attends various workshops, courses and programs to equip herself with the latest in the 'helping field' for her own self growth, awareness and to better her own knowlegde base. Nandini Raman, has conducted a number of training sessions for corporates like AGARAM Foundation, Cognizant, Ability Foundation (Career Enhancement for the Hearing Impaired Engineers), I.A.S.A.P Tamil Nadu Chapter and is a regular with various ROTARY clubs in the city and at the university with student and faculty workshops on various topics and soft skills training programs. She has sensitised Doctors and medical specialists on the 'Role of a Coundelor in Medical Practise' and also conducts lectures across schools - The Unique Academy, Saraswathy Vidyalaya etc. to name a few. Today, she has her own private practice and works with Chennai's leading psychiatrist, Dr. Mohan Raj. She practises humanistic and cognitive-behaviorial approaches of counseling to enable and empower her clients over their various interpersonal, intrapersonal and emotional issues to attain better psychological health and well-being. Some of her key areas include marital, relationship counseling, depression, suicide counseling, workplace challenges and issues, stress and burn-out, parental counseling, conflict resolution etc. Nandini, is associated with Santulan, ICAS India & PPC worldwide as a Partner Counselor for their Employee Assistance Programe (EAP) in Chennai, for their corporate clients. She is an active member of Chennai Counselors Foundation, Chennai and a 'Life Associate Member' of Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS). Her strengths lie in the fact that she is an extrovert, people oriented enthusiast, completely self motivated and a cheerful person who loves life, and loves to help people live their own lives, a little better, too.
